Local charity supports BFD in its work in Kenya
20 Team members travelled 5,000 miles to visit the Metropolitan Sanctuary for Children, this included two of the charity Directors and two Development officers.
It was an amazing opportunity to see first hand the special work of all the Sanctuary staff and volunteers.
Medical chair fitting was also carried out free of charge in a hospital for disabled adults.
A massive thank you to the suppliers of the Chillibean chair who kindly donated the equipment free of charge.
Listen to a some Kenyan mothers telling us how receiving a Sanctuary ACE chair has made them so happy!
BFD's new wheels...thanks to the TBF and KL Thompson Trust!

Next stop - Everest!
Today saw us bid our Strategic Director, Naomi Walker, a very warm 'Bon Voyage!' as she heads to her new life in The Big Apple!
Since starting in 2014 her hard work, dedication and enthusiasm has been unparralled and she has touched the lives of so many through her work here at BFD.
We are thrilled to have Annabelle Murray on board, with lots of very exciting things coming up - stay tuned!
This month, one of the Directors of Befrienders For Disability, Mrs Terry Fairfowl, was given an award by the Wise Women Foundation. The Wise Women Awards, founded by Pastor Marjorie Esomowei of Wisdom for Women International, recognise the achievements of women in ministry across the denominational spectrum.
Terry won the 'Naomi' award, presented to 'to a Christian woman of mature years who is actively serving her church or local community through good works.' We believe that Terry more than fulfilled the requirements here!
BFD is thrilled that Terry's tireless efforts to serve people with disabilities both here in Northern Ireland and in Kenya have been recognised in this way. She is truly an inspiration to all of us!
